Fostering a pet is one of the most impactful ways you can help save a life. As a foster, you provide a safe, loving home for an animal while they wait for their forever family. This can include anything from giving a shy dog time to build confidence, to helping a sankitten grow strong and healthy, to simply offering a soft place to land for an animal in need.

We make fostering easy and fully supported. Our organization provides all food, supplies, and veterinary care, so there is no financial burden on you—just your time, patience, and compassion. We also offer guidance every step of the way, from intake to adoption.

By fostering, you’re not only changing one animal’s life—you’re opening space for us to rescue another. It’s a rewarding experience that truly makes a difference.

 Our Volunteer Dog Walker & Adventure Program gives dogs in our care a much-needed break from kennel life while helping them build confidence, burn energy, and experience the world beyond our facility.

As a volunteer, you can choose to take a dog out for a simple walk or enjoy a full “adventure day.” 

Walks may include neighborhood strolls, park visits, or light exercise, while adventure days give our dogs the chance to go on hikes, runs, or other fun outings tailored to their personality and energy level.

These experiences are incredibly valuable. They provide mental stimulation, socialization, and enrichment that help our dogs become more well-rounded and adoptable. For many of them, it’s also a chance to relax, bond with a person, and just be a dog.

We provide guidance on selecting a dog that matches your experience level, along with any necessary supplies and information to ensure a safe and enjoyable outing for both you and the dog.

Whether you have an hour or a full day, your time makes a meaningful difference in a dog’s life.

Fundraising and Events

As a Volunteer Fundraiser, you play a vital role in supporting our mission by helping generate the resources needed to care for animals and serve our community. This role combines creativity, organization, and relationship-building to make a meaningful impact.

Event planning and coordination - helping organize fundraisers such as community events, donation drives, and special campaigns. From brainstorming ideas to assisting with logistics and day-of execution, you’ll help bring events to life.

Donor outreach - connecting with individuals and businesses to encourage financial support, in-kind donations, and sponsorships. This may include writing messages, making calls, or helping manage donor lists and follow-ups.

Community partnerships - help establish and maintain relationships with local businesses, organizations, and supporters to expand our network and increase engagement.

Fundraising Efforts - social media campaigns, peer-to-peer fundraising, and promoting donation opportunities through digital platforms.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting with people, organizing events, and making a direct impact on the lives of animals and the community we serve.

Pet Food Bank Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring pets in our community have consistent access to food and supplies. This role includes both donation pickups and monthly distribution support.

Donation Pickups:
Volunteers assist with collecting donated pet food and supplies from community partners. This includes picking up a rental truck and completing 3–5 scheduled stops at local donation sites. Pickups typically take place on the first Tuesday of the month (or the last Tuesday if the first Wednesday falls on the 1st of the month). Volunteers should be comfortable driving a larger vehicle, lifting and loading pet food, and coordinating efficient routes between stops.

Distribution Day:
Volunteers help distribute pet food to families during our monthly pet food bank, held on the first Wednesday of each month. This is an outdoor event that takes place rain or shine, so volunteers should be prepared to work in all weather conditions. Tasks may include unloading and organizing food, assisting clients, carrying supplies, and helping ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for everyone.
